Bowls, also known as Lawn Bowls, is a precision sport where the goal is to roll slightly radially asymmetrical balls, called bowls, closer to a small white ball, the jack, than one's opponent is able to do. It's related to games like Petanque. The game is usually played outdoor on a large rectangular precisely levelled grass surface, but there's also an indoor variation on synthetic grass. Bowls ia considered to be an English sport, but it probably originated in France even before the middle ages. Bowls is governed by World Bowls, which operates as the international federation.
