The Commonwealth Games consist of a varity of sports, take place every four years, and is contested by the members of the Commonwealth. The first Games took place in 1930 at Hamilton (Canada) under the name 'British Empire Games'. In 1970 the name was changed to Commonwealth Games. The Games are organised by the Commonwealth Games Federation. The CGF consists of 71 national federations. The next Commonwealth Games will take place in 2006 at Melbourne (Australia), and in 2010 at New Delhi (India).
