Curling is a precision sport similar to bowls, but played on ice with polished heavy stones ('rocks'). Generally it's believed the game originated in 16th century Scotland. The curling arena is a sheet of ice with rings, called the house, painted at the end of the rink. The game is played between two teams of four curlers. In short the game is all about: both teams delivering their rocks, and the team with the rock closest to the center of the house is awarded one point for each rock that is closer than the opponen't closest. The World Curling Federation was founded in 1966. For more info see Wikipedia.
