Hazena Hazena was one of the predecessors of the handball game. It was developed in Bohemia in the 1890's. It was played on a 45x30 m court with goals and an initially square goal-area. The latter changed later to a semi circle. Teams consisted of seven players and rules changed over the years. Hazena spread towards Central European countries, but was overpowered by Handball at the end of the 1940's. Defunct Event: Women's World Games
