Hang Gliding
Hang Gliding uses a craft consisting of a metal-framed fabric wing, with the pilot mounted on a harness hanging from the wing frame and exercising control by shifting body weight against a triangular bar also attached to the frame. The gliders have their roots in the USA and Australia, but broke through in the 1970's in Alpes region. Hang Gliding is organised by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale, the international federation for air sports, which was founded in 1905.
