Inline Hockey
When inline skates gained much popularity in the 1980's, street hockey was born on the streets of North America. Halfway through the 1990's the game had moved indoors to a smooth ice-like surface and the game was played, not with a ball, but with a puck. The ice-less version of ice hockey was born, and has been growing ever since. Inline hockey is governed by two different bodies, the Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports, which was founded in 1924, and by the International Ice Hockey Federation, which was founded in 1908.
