Mountain Biking
Mountain biking is a form of cycling which uses very sturdy bicycles with straight handlebars and wide tires, called MTB. Mountain biking takes place off-road. The first mountain bikes were produced at then end of the 1970's. Mountain biking was sanctioned by the Union Cycliste International from 1990. Next to the traditional cross-country race and the downhill (time trial) event, there is a constant development and change of events; it combines well with the focus on equipment, material and design.
